Ministry Journey
Born September 24, 1986, Rev. Eatmon heard the call to preach at a young age. He was licensed to preach the Gospel on Sunday, June 6, 2004 — one week following his high school graduation — and received ordination certification through the Wilson Missionary Baptist Association, Wilson, NC, in December 2007.
Prior to pastoring, he served in the local missionary union of the Wilson Association as President of the Youth Department, and as Past President of the State Youth Department of the Woman's Baptist Home & Foreign Missionary Convention of NC — Auxiliary to the General Baptist State Convention of NC. One of his greatest delights was serving as Youth Minister of Vaughn's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Elm City, NC, for 4½ years; the relationships built there have lasted well into those young people's adult lives.
At age 23, Rev. Eatmon became Co-Pastor — alongside his home church pastor, Bishop Lynwood E. Batts — of Arc of Faith Church, Raleigh, NC. After one year as Co-Pastor, he became the sole Pastor in April 2011, just four months before the birth of his first child. The congregation blessed numerous souls through community outreach, marriage seminars and retreats, and small-group Bible study. Following God's leading, he completed his assignment at Arc of Faith in December 2016.
Called to Mount Olive
In March 2017, Rev. Eatmon accepted the call and divine appointment to become the fourth Pastor of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Rocky Mount, NC — stepping into the historic legacy of the late Rev. George E. Battle, Sr., who had served for more than five decades. He was installed on July 16, 2017 — the one-year birthday of his youngest child.
Since his installation, Rev. Eatmon has called MOMBC to follow the footsteps of those who came before by constantly encouraging members to “Believe in Church” the way it should be — which requires God's people to Go · Teach · Baptize · Love, grounded in The Great Commission and The Great Commandment (Matthew 28:18–20; 22:35–40).
Education & Vocation
Rev. Eatmon is a bi-vocational minister. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a 6–9 Language Arts and 9–12 English NC Teaching license from Barton College, Wilson, NC, and a Master of School Administration from Elizabeth City State University, Elizabeth City, NC. He has served in public education as a teacher, pre-kindergarten coordinator, licensure specialist, and special projects' facilitator, and is currently employed as a Member Services Representative.
Pastor's Heart
“I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
— Philippians 4:13
It is Rev. Eatmon's passion and desire for people to live. This verse serves as a daily reminder of the adage his mother taught him: “There is nothing that the Lord and I can't handle together.” Therefore, all people have the ability and right not just to exist in life — but to actually have a life.
