Our History
130 years of faith.
From the land acquired in 1895, Mount Olive has stood as a pillar of faith and service in this community. Here are some of the milestones that shaped who we are today.
Chapter 03
Rev. Bozzie Thorne — growth and structure
Under the leadership of Reverend Bozzie Thorne, membership continued to grow and the first committees were formed: the Deacon Board, the Mother Board, and the Usher Board. In the mid to late 1950s, Reverend Thorne sought the services of Reverend George E. Battle, Sr. to serve as the first — and to date only — Assistant Pastor of the church.

Rev. Eatmon leads MOMBC with the vision to Go · Teach · Baptize · Love — calling this congregation to believe in the Church the way it was meant to be. Licensed to preach at 17, he has spent his life in ministry, serving youth, planting churches, and now shepherding Mount Olive into its next generation.
He is married to Meagan Nicole and together they are the proud parents of five children.
